Big Bet is a term derived from Limit holdem, where there are two bet sizes.This term is often used by people when describing win-rates.

A big bet usually occurs in a fixed-limit poker game, where the larger of the two fixed bet amounts is considered the big bet. Mainly aimed at increasing the size of the pot considerably in the final rounds of the game, a big bet also increases the possibility of a bluff.
The size of the big bet is usually the double of the small bet, or the initial bet.
Basically big bets increase the risk ratio in the game till the hand is shown, and is often substituted for variable limit raises. Thus many players are tempted to bluff as the pot is considerably larger meaning a larger win.
Casino poker tables often employ big bets to set the limits to the amount of money a player stands to lose in each wager.
Some popular poker games big bets are used in include, Casino style draw poker, Omaha hold’em, Texas hold’em and Casino style seven-card stud.
