The third stop of the 2014/2015 World Series of Poker Circuit came to an end on Monday at the IP Biloxi in Louisiana. After a full weekend of play in the $1,675 Main Event, Mohammad Moeini emerged victorious over a field of 301 entrants to win the his first gold ring, $106,101 in prize money, and a seat into the season-ending National Championship.

The 44-year-old Gulfport, Miss. resident is an avid participant of the IP’s series and lays claim to five Circuit cashes including three final tables at the property. Moeini says his Main Event victory goes down as his crowning achievement thus far, but he hopes for many future successes in his hometown.
Action resumed in Level 25 (12,000/24,000/4,000) and it didn’t take long for the first elimination to occur. It happened whenRoger Morris raised to 60,000 from early position only to have Timothy Miles three-bet to 130,000 from the button. After the blinds folded, Morris moved all in for approximately 400,000 and Miles snap-called.
From there, Larry Hirons and Thomas Doussan fell in seventh and sixth place respectively, and then Jones followed them out the door in fifth. It happened in Level 27 (20,000/40,000/5,000) when Brandon Newsome opened for 110,000 from the cutoff and then called when Jones moved all in for roughly 500,000 from the big blind.
Moeini lays claim to three other tournament victories but his largest previous score of $55,103 pales in comparison to the six-figure haul he nabbed Monday night. He came to the final table with the chip lead but hit some bumps in the road before catching a hot streak and laying claim to the title.

The Main Event was the last of 12 gold ring events on the WSOP Circuit schedule at IP Biloxi. The $1,675 no-limit hold’em event attracted 301 players. The total prize pool came to $451,500 and the top 33 players were paid.
