Levon Torosyan Scores $110,000 Win in Commerce Poker Series Main Event

(pokernews.com)- Commerce Casino in Los Angeles, California, has always been a hotbed for poker, and the recentCommerce Poker Series proved no different. Several well-attended events took place, but the schedule was highlighted by the $1,650 Main Event that attracted 393 entries and generated a prize pool of $589,500. Emerging victorious after the two-day affair was local player Levon Torosyan, claiming the $110,420 top prize.

The top 45 places paid out in the event, and the final table was reached by notables such as Christina LindleyDavid LeviDanny Nguyen, and Gavin Griffin. Lindley ended up falling in seventh place for $20,280, and Levi bounced in fourth place for $40,570. That left Torosyan to battle with Nguyen and Griffin, and it was the latter that took the worst of it with a third-place finish worth $54,760.
Prior to this victory, Torosyan held just over $181,000 in live tournament earnings. Some of his results included two World Series of Poker final tables, with one coming in 2008 and another in 2014. For those, Torosyan earned $50,186 and $55,319, respectively, but this win will go down as the largest score of his career.
Other notables to finish in the money in the Commerce Poker Series $1,650 Main Event were Cord Garcia (13th – $7,240), Adam Geyer (23rd – $4,870), Steve Chanthabousay (29th – $3,770), and Matt Salsberg (45th – $3,250).
