Last Stop of MSPT Season 5 Kicks Off Dec. 5 at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, MN

Season 5 of the Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) is coming to an end and from Dec. 6-14 the MSPT will host its last stop of the season at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, Minnesota which was home to the first-ever MSPT.
The stop, , will culminate with a $1,100 buy-in $200,000 guarantee Main Event from Friday, Dec. 12 through Sunday, Dec. 14.

MSPT Season 5 Player of the Year race is tight among a handful of players. Mike Deis currently leads with 3,350 points, but not far behind at 3,150 points is MSPT Team Pro Kou Vang, while Jason Zarlenga, who has won two events so far this season, sits in third with 3,100 points. Others still in contention are Blake Michael Lang and Mark Johnson.
The last time the MSPT visited Canterbury Park, the tour set a state-record of 447 entrants, which shattered the guarantee by creating a $447,000 prize pool. Mike Wilmes emerged victorious in that event to capture the $108,984 first-place prize.
Other past winners of the MSPT Canterbury include John Dragich , Jason Senti and MSPT Team Pro Kou Vang, just to name a few.

The MSPT Canterbury Park will kick off this Friday, Dec. 5 at 2:30 p.m. with a $260 qualifier, which will see the top 20 percent of the field advance to the Main Event.
