Season 5 of the Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) continues from Nov. 7-16 at the Golden Gates Casino in Blackhawk, Colorado.
This marks the second time the MSPT has visited the property. The first time, which took place in March of this year, 453 entrants took to the felt and crushed the guarantee by creating a prize pool of $453,000. Dan Colpoys, who bagged the Day 2 chip lead and going wire to wire on Day 3, won that tournament for $114,156.

The MSPT Golden Gates is also one of the last opportunities players will have to accumulate precious Player of the Year points. Right now Michael Deisleads that race with 3,350 points, but MSPT Team Pro Kou Vang, who finished fifth in the last MSPT Golden Gates, is hot on his heels with 3,100 points. Likewise, Jason Zarlenga, who has won two MSPT titles this season, is sitting with the same amount of points. For a look at the full MSPT Season 5 POY leaderboard.
